Is there anything quite so sublime as a bossa nova groove? It's entirely possible. Still, Rich Bennett makes it seem like no other style of music can even even come close. It helps that this particular bossa nova, found in the opening track from Bennett's excellent release On Holiday is completely perfect. The track is here revisited in this found-footage video compiling films of a 60s family in sunny suburbia on their way to a dream vacation. It enhances the music's easy-going feel while adding a thick layer of nostalgia for a time our generation will never completely understand. It makes me wonder... what will home movies of the 00's look like 50 years from now? And also, how in the world will they be soundtracked?
