BLACK COUNTRY, NEW ROAD – “SUNGLASSES”

“Sunglasses” is a towering, spiraling composition teetering just on the edge of madness. Black Country, New Road is a blender set to puree – No Wave sax stabs, jittery start-stop guitar riffs build into an never-ending escalator of anxiety after a triumphant intro. Released on the Thurston Moore affiliate Blank Recordings, BC, NR pull from disparate influences that suck up bits of The Fall, Swell Maps and Self-Defense Family. The video for “Sunglasses” is what happens when a data breach goes sentient. A collection of photo graphs both mundane and profound, presented without context, yet made meaningful in their randomness.
