The title track from body / negative’s upcoming album “Everett” is a heaven-metal burner of a composition that utilizes Midwife’s characteristic vocals and guitarwork to ratchet up the emotional intensity to even higher stakes. According to the press release, “Mastered by Slowdive’s Simon Scott, Everett is the upcoming album from body / negative, the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Andy Schiaffino. Everett’s lo-fi sound blends elements of shoegaze and ambient, while certain moments enter experimental territories. Much of the album is recorded through a hand-held tape recorder, while Andy sings through a landline-style handset in lieu of a microphone, giving the vocals the nostalgic hum of a phone call.”
