According to the press release, “Flust Etterklang is a rework of Inge Weatherhead Breistein’s track Flust from his album Skogskammer which was released earlier this year. The contemplative, lingering layers of manipulated saxophone phrases and modular synth from the original, drifts farther out into an evolving atmospheric soundscape in Haav’s adaptation. Slowed down field recordings from metallic sculptures and local coastal surroundings add textural depth and nuance.” Saxophone are transformed into sheets of living, glowing drone that melt into the track’s manipulated field recordings. Metallic sculptures provide a faint propulsive percussion while drones weave in and out of focus like a bird caught in an updraft.
