Jack Zaferes latest multi-instrumental output has centered around the chemical and phenomenological responses our brains create / produce that are directly tied to the way we experience reality. For “Magenta” Zaferes ponders the way our brains make up the color magenta - a color that doesn’t exist in the wild. This begs the question - what else is our brain making up to help us process the world. Strong, pulsing drones are met with excellent piano compositions, distorted percussion, steady bass lines and dynamic shifts in the song’s twisting and turning presentation.
