Octex - "Droppal"

Have you ever been listening to music and you swear you hear an element - a tonal change, a rhythmic pattern, a ghostly double note - that just isn’t there? The Slovenian artist Octex has created a hypnotically minimalist, dub-heavy electronic composition that intentionally blurs the line between what is heard and what the mind creates when exposed to repetitive, minimalist music. Taken from the “Mindrifft” record and created on vintage synthesizers, Octex describes “Droppal” as “ drift(ing) into the more familiar dub-techno waters. Steady beat of falling droplets and hypnotically shifting bassline propelling your mind deeply into the caverns of diffusing subconsciousness.” After listening several times, I started to experience the phenomena described above. A hallucinatory and totally engaging track for fans of artists like Shifted or Elysia Crampton.
