OSTEL - "The Whole World Went Away"

OSTEL is the alter ego of the Mexican musician/composer/sound designer and producer Sergio Sancén. “The Whole World Wen Away” is a beautiful and lovingly paced composition that creates tension through deep and rich pads, heartrending strings and washes of synth. According to the press release, “This song emerges as an experimental musical narrative and sonic warning, weaving a haunting tale of human decadence in the face of the relentless invasion of social media and cell phones. The sound structures and ethereal textures mirror the disintegration of genuine human connection and evoke a sense of unease and the impending decay of authentic interaction and a society whose essence is slowly eroding in the face of digital decadence. You will notice vigorous and deep atmospheres that were made using modular synthesis and an electric violin merely doing sound experimentation and splicing textures into the overall soundscape.”
