“Brave” continues the AMBIENT GIRL saga created by Ross Harper as a multi-media experience following the journeys of Ambient Girl and continued in his latest saga TOWER OF LIGHT. Set against a woozy backdrop of hard hitting percussion that sound like a combination of the heady IDM excursions of the 90’s with the equally trippy experiments of J Dilla’s rhythm section punching through the hazy fog of a distorted sample. The result is a delicately looped composition that pairs raw drumming with spectral-flecked ambient passages that accrue with more and more meaning the longer they are repeated, a ringy hi-hat layered atop keeps everything within a deeply felt composition that is both an homage to the rave scene of the 90’s as much as it is a score for fantastical parallel universe.
