“Dark Green” was born from the careful and tedious work of splicing, stretching, distorting and looping voice memos from a discarded box of cassette tapes that the Athens, GA based artist found in a box ready to be recycled. Instead, this process gave a second life to these cassettes, creating a living and breathing composition full of pregnant static hum, field recordings of rain and thunderstorms and the effects of physical tape manipulation – creating intentional and delicate melodies buried within the analog crackle.
