FREDERIK FLACH – “WAITING FOR MAY”

Having just purchased and currently working on restoring an upright piano from the turn of the century, I am in awe of the tones that Frederik Flach is able  to coax from a “dusty old upright” in a house in the Danish countryside. The result is a melodic, highly emotional work that speaks to the slowing of time that occurs when we adjust to the countryside. It’s a beautiful composition that serves as a poignant counterpoint to his exploration of space with “Planets” and relationships with “Perspectives”.

  1. Hi Ryan! Thanks for your kind words! I recorded the album on a Kawai – that was purposefully out of tune. And a stereo pair of AKG C414 XLII right in front of the piano. It gives it a warm close-mic’ed feeling. If you like the sound of this track, the whole album releases in about a week. “Songs For A Secluded Place”. Check it out november 20th 2020! /Frederik
