The Danish “Tapetown Session” has quickly become one of my favorite vehicles for exposure for (mostly) heavy, guitar bands. This latest from the Danish Noise Rock band Heathe, however, sets the standard. Uncompromisingly brutal, Heathe recalls the best tendencies when Noise and Psych rock hook up in some seedy club bathroom. In-the-red dissonance meets melodic, psych groove set at a punishing pace recalling The Black Angels, The Men and A Place To Bury Strangers. The multi-camera, intimate Tapetown Session pulls the viewer in at an almost claustrophobic level – as if you can feel the throb of three guitars and a rumbling, window-breaking bass.
