The first from our coverage of Minismus’s album Minimalismus, “Counterpart” is a subtle and moving composition that marries inherently emotional piano lines with a growing and evolving violin and synth swell that capture everything not yet sound. A moving composition that showcases U.S. based composer’s ability to pull raw emotion from a few notes of building and swelling instrumentation.


A track with much more complex movement, “End” finds the neo-classical composer truly living up to the name of his album “Film” out on 03.31 by composing a cinematic track of minimilist movement, droning overtones and pulsing strings that create a surging race to a cathartic finish. Some of my favorite soundtracks are for films that have not yet been scored. This is definitely one.
