"Carried Away by Owls" by the Glasgow based A Sea of Dead Trees features one of those perfect builds from forlorn post-rock into crushing black-metal inspired shoegaze crescendo. Fans of bands like Alcest, Rosetta, Planning for Burial and Jesu should find ample purchase here with A Sea of Dead Trees -  understated whisper-to-a-scream build when the dam wall breaks and everything that anxiety and depression prevents us from saying just comes spilling out. It's a white-knuckle listen that comes with fist-pounding catharsis. Excellent work.
