LUCAS LENNY & ELHADJI SORA - "WANDER"

Recorded remotely in Los Angeles, California and Dakar, Senegal, the track “Wander” features beautifully layered and nuanced approach to playing the Kora. Being a massive fan of Mamadou Diabaté I was immediately drawn into the unhurried but distinctively paced approach to pairing the Kora with modern jazz leanings. Bless whatever fate brought together Lucas Lenny and Elhadji Sora for this collaboration, but it’s certainly one that I return to often during hectic times. The operative instinct here is to let the mind wander where it will, trusting that it has a purpose and direction.
