MARIHIKO HARA & POLAR M - "OUR SEASON (DAE KIM OUR HOME REMIX)"

We love so much of what’s going on here. The collaboration “Our Season” between Japanese ambient / post-rock artists Marihiko Hara and Polar M is given a retreatment from the Malaysia based Dae Kim that completely punches up the already emotional heft of a song that explores the nature of home. Between the grainy guitar-lines, subtle organic percussion, star-crossed synths and understated but incredibly effective vocals, Dae Kim’s remix of “Our Season” is one of the more beautiful compositions you will hear this year. Fans of Sigur Ros, Album Leaf and Ruhe will hear the the expert timing of a contemplative piano line, a heavy korg synth line and the bone dry snap of a snare drum in the right place and the right time. Of the composition, Dae Kim stated that hearing “Our Season” by Marihiko Hara and Polar M. as “a gift of solace in resonance.” He was immediately greeted with a sense of belonging and warmth in their music and especially through the word “our”. As if he was staring into the same scenic details that the duo are imagining writing the songs.””
