Benson Taylor & James Adrian Brown - "Church of First"

On “Church of First” the two British-born composers and musicians create a beautifully crafted track that swells and bursts apart in both sparse and grandiose fashion. Waves of granular noise co-exist beside a nervous melody breaking open into bright notes that seem to burst like fireworks in reverse. Of the title “Church of First” the press release states, “Church of First was born out of a desire to push on when walls are built around us. When you lose sight of your path, you can only guide yourself back to the tracks you left behind and move forward. Church of First is the first piece from a session where they worked night and day in the ferocious heat of Tuscany, sculpting analogue synths to vintage tape machines, recorded, and produced during their time together in Benson's studio in Italy.”
