Cerkit - "Mercury 6.21"

The Atlanta based cerkit has produced a gorgeous album of expertly sound-designed ambient and downtempo electronic music with the album Oceania and the focus track “Mercury 6.21”. Thick synthesizers set the main melodic passage and are soon met with resonant piano and a meditative and meandering (in the best sense of the word) percussion and floating drones. Cerkit’s work seems to push into questions of self expression through digital media. His website is full of these inquiries. However, taken at face value, Oceania offers a deeply felt and introspective look into a lifelong pursuit of wringing out the ineffable through digital media.
