Tāmaki Makaurau records uplifting and deeply textural ambient music under the name Cliff Roads. In a genre defined by edgeless tonal shifts, it often presents a blank emotional canvas to put our own anxieties, fears and concerns into. For “Crisp Winter Sun”, however, Makaurau states that the track’s intent was, “to create space for people to think and connect with themselves. I’m inspired by nature, identity, and interconnection, and I want to craft something that allows others to explore what these themes mean to them.” Lovely work here from this New Zealand based ambient artist.
