HK/SS - "Aware / Thrive"

We love this kind of noisy, melodic ambient work here on the Tome. Heavily processed field recordings, in-the-red drones and compositions that feel like they have been carved out into wet cement. These two songs are collaborations between Hermit Kingdom and SkinSkin. “Thrive” pushes the two into sonic extremes while maintaining melodic and compositional integrity. Heavy, intense work here that is “meant to convey the sound of a dark future in a dead world, yet one that is not devoid of hope.” “Aware” is a bit more of a subdued noise track. Footfalls in static as thick as snow. Fans of Burial’s Antidawn and Vladislav Delay will find a lot here to love.
