Hugar - "ok (Dustin O'Halloran Rework) [feat. Dustin O'Halloran]"

Hugar - "ok (Dustin O'Halloran Rework) [feat. Dustin O'Halloran]"

The Icelandic neo-classical group Hugar is back with a minimal composition given a gorgeous treatment by A Winged Victory for the Sullen’s Dustin O’Halloran. Filling in the rifts of the track’s piano notes and fleeting melodies. Tape worn drones, flurries of piano melodies and soft strings seep down from the rafters. Of the track and the album, the press release states, “Hugar's 2022 album Rift was inspired by the fault line located northeast of the capital Reykjavik, prompting the band to question what happens when you pull things apart - and realizing the void one creates is fertile ground for new ideas and new beginnings. Like geological change, a sense of unfathomable scale and time is reflected in the sound world of “ok”. O’Halloran’s rework intensifies the epic grandeur and widescreen drama of the track, through finely layered textures.”
