Kenneth James Gibson - "Sandra Leans Toward Eternity"
Retreating to a cabin and utilizing the spaces’ natural tendency to soak in and reverberate sound, Kenneth James Gibson recorded Groundskeeping earlier this year. Gibson returns with a slow moving composition full of evolving drones, deep bass rattle and a melodic center that runs through the almost 7 minutes. Moments of near in-the-red distortion cycle through creating a much appreciated contrast to the float and lift these heavily pawed tonal shifts take us through. From the press release, “This is from an upcoming EP titled “Ssih Mountain” out later this year consisting mainly of guitar based ambient textures. The artwork is a portrait of my great-grandmother (who died of the Spanish Flu in 1918) and grandfather painted by my father James B. Gibson.”
