Robert Nance - "Arnold Schoenberg: Sechs kleine Klavierstücke - iv. Sehr langsam"

At only 1:24 Robert Nance’s interpretation of the 20th Century Austrian-American composer Arnold Schoenberg’s “Sechs kleine Klavierstücke - iv. Sehr langsam” showcases the composer’s intentional use of silence as a type of reflecting pool - a moment where you can hear the reverb and delay from Nance’s guitar spread like ripples from the source. Using this amount of space along with a keen sense of harmonics and accruing sound, Nance does this composition justice. The reverence for silence and space is built in and accentuated by Nance’s deft playing.
