Sean Addicott - "Ritual III - Blissed and Burned, in this Sidechain Ouroboros" / "Voltairine III - Unheeding the Storm - Blasts Will Walk Together"

The UK based producer Sean Addicott seems to have my number figured out when it comes to creating these inherently emotional drone compositions that venture deep into the red but never quite overtakes the track with the harsh noise blasts of the nihilistic Midwest. Rather, these tones coax the listener deeper into their organ like dirges and ouroboros minimalism. Fans of artist like Lawrence English or Tim Hecker’s earlier work will find lots to chew on here. Couldn’t agree more that these tracks, “showcases Sean’s ability to balance lightness with crushing weight, growing from a semi-sinusoidal drone to a palisade of noise, harmony, and sub-bass. Conceptually, the album explores catharsis through ritual isolation, loneliness, and the importance of growth and change.”
