SUGAR HORSE - "PHIL SPECTOR IN HELL"

A shimmering and ascendant piece of thoughtful post-rock, "Phil Spector in Hell" by Sugar Horse is a lovingly deconstructed take on what can be a fairly formulaic genre. Folding in distant, slowcore influenced vocals bearing a strong resemblance to Codeine or Mogwai in it's most triumphant measures. The UK based Sugar Horse master the slow build into a thrilling but quiet crescendo where swelling vocals meet a "wall of sound" (hehe) of crashing shoegaze guitars and truly pummeling percussion.
