Under Islands - "Other Lives"

Happening in one of those moments of pure cathartic creative output, “Other Lives” by the Australian artist Under Islands is a simple piano and guitar melody met with understated beats and the trilling of the augmented voice. Heavy grain shepherds this track through deep water allowing the listener to sink deeply into melancholia. Of the track, Under Islands stated, “i remember when i made the demo for this, i was sitting in bed with a little battery powered synth (OP-1) a couple of years ago, i was feeling down for whatever reason. it was one of those rare moments when i felt that the music that flowed out perfectly represented my feelings and whatever i was going through at the time. these moments are the reason i feel like i need to keep making music for the rest of my life. it feels like magic and is incredibly therapeutic and im so grateful for this.”
