Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Zeta Io - "Slower Life" / Olamina"

Zeta Io - "Slower Life" / Olamina"

Lucky to have two new tracks from Zeta Io - an artist whose work I’ve become fascinated with in the last few months. “Slower Life” is taken from the album The Slow Living Manifesto, Vol. 1 and features a creeping, dusty synth lines, bright synths and plenty of crackling vinyl distortion. The composition spreads out from the center, creating new laps and pulling from an internal source of energy that keeps secrets close to the vest.

“Olamina” a reference to the main character in Octavia Butler’s incredibly prescient dystopian fiction Parable of the Sower - is a beautifully unfolding “patient piece for patient listeners” from Zeta Io. A 14 minute opus, the track rewards listeners by creating angular, fractally connected pieces of noise, pulsing synths, washes of noise and patiently evolving drones that feel alive and breathing.
