I love the way that the name of Russian producer Constantine Horizon’s alias Desolate Horizons comes together with the song title. “Now More Than Ever”. It may be true that we are looking towards an immediate future and horizons – in terms of political, financial and ecological – seem desolate now more than ever. The backbone of this gorgeous ambient composition, however, does not spare much for navel-gazing or self-pity. There is a strange grandiosity that bows at the center of this composition. It’s a lovely uplift that takes these fractured tones and spreads them across a simple, minimalist melody that is more hopeful than desolate. Outstanding work.
