Elijah Knutsen - "Love Letter 1"

Taking some heavy notes from Japanese ambient music like Hiroshi Yoshimura and Ryuichi Sakamoto, the Portland based artist has release a beautiful and melancholic ode to lost love on “Four Love Letters”. It’s a lovely drift off, a slowly nodding composition that doesn’t stray too far from the source. According to the press release it features a “soft, wandering tone, flourished with lush strings and muted, glass like ripples. Velvety chords sound as the background starts to unfurl. The chimes slowly diffuse, leaving nothing but a deep, drifting blanket of warm noise.” Couldn’t agree more.
