A lovely and patient composition from Neil Foster unfolds over 8 minutes of analog arpeggiators, live vocals, delayed, layered pianos and field recordings. “Dawn River” is a track that holds spaces for us allowing the listener to come in and out of it without completely losing the plot. These elements change and unfold over time, moving the superstructure of the track in the most subtle but profound ways. The way the wordless vocals weave between the soft arpeggios and delayed piano lines remind me of a murmuration of birds as they dart and weave in splendid symmetry.
