TRISTAN DE LIEGE & GREGORY ALLISON - "SKYE"

Continuing on the incredibly fruitful collaboration between downtempo producer Tristan de Liege and string composer and player Gregory Allison, “Skye” is a thoughtful and engaging composition that plays to both strengths. A bit more insight into the mind state in which this was produced, the press release states,

“An exceptionally rainy and wet Los Angeles winter provided a moody environment for these artists to record in Allison’s home studio. The process consisted of improvising melodies together on violin and piano and then looping the melodies and playing over them until they were satisfied with the created texture. The result is a track that organically and genuinely welcomes the listener in and offers space in that sonic world for inward reflection.”

“Skye” keeps things in the mid-tempo range where contemplative strings meet unfolding and deeply felt electronic percussion. Highly addictive.
