Austin Cash - "Palisades"

Austin Cash - "Palisades"

Can you feel it? It’s closer than you think. Soon those trees will have leaves and we will be having our morning coffee out of doors. Until then, melting the permafrost here in Ohio is the Arkansas born and bred Austin Cash with “Palisades”. In the tradition of John Fahey and Jack Rose and amongst good company of artists like Dylan Golden Aycock, Daniel Bachman and Lake Mary, the rambling, deeply impressionistic solo acoustic guitar work of Austin Cash is guaranteed to turn your mind a bit more towards the promise of spring. For context, however, the composition for Palisades came from a film about public land use in Wyoming.

From the press release: “Originally written as the soundtrack for The Palisades Project - a documentary about a community in Wyoming divided over the decision of what to do with the future of their public lands - the newest release from Austin Cash, PALISADES, stands alone as a piece of thoughtful ambient americana composition. Written, recorded, and produced by Cash (with contributions from Conner Breen, a chemist and accordion player) this expansive three track EP not only offers a rich backdrop to a film about the many opinions and desires for preservation regarding the last contiguous wild country left in the United States, but also allows Cash to flex his savvy abilities for capturing places with sonic wit and delicate sound.”
