What were you doing or who were you in 2007? Probably not best to dwell too much on that question. 15 years ago The Binary Marketing Show released the tape “Destruction of your Own Creation” on Already Dead Tapes. As an anniversary listening back, The Binary Marketing Show feels fresh as ever. While mining currents of American Experimental music at that time - shards of jagged noise-pop, strummed freak-folk, lo-fi consumer electronics - this feels pretty timeless. TBMS asks the big questions here, given more weight as it forces itself to reflect back on it’s own existence - “Find a mirror. Look into the reflection of your own eyes. Think about the contours and shapes creating what appears to be your iris. Gaze into the blackness of your own pupils and imagine the chain of events that had to happen in order for you to be. What are you?”
