McKenzie Stubbert - "Err"

McKenzie Stubbert - "Err"

A devastatingly intimate track and video from the composer and pianist McKenzie Stubbert. The song, video and cover speak to a profound disconnection and the steps we take to find it again. The track is a hyper-close piano composition that is full of those mechanical creaks from old pianos that still produce lovely sound. Of the track, the press release states, “much of it was recorded on a 1949 Acrosonic riddled with aches and clicks and sputters, giving the music almost a percussive element that most definitely comes from the piano itself, and is a nice counterpoint to some of the more ambient sections of the music as well. The album cover painting by Zach Johnson captures McKenzie in a literal waiting room at the marriage counselor for him and his wife, providing the personal ethos lurking in the shadows of the music.”
